ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A Greenville shooting 2013 today erupted at the Kellum Law Firm and a local Walmart. Four persons were shot and the gunman has been arrested. The shooter’s name has not been released to news.
The Greenville shooting started this morning June 21, 2013 before noontime. Local police report receiving the first 911 call just before 11:40 am local time today. The first shooting erupted inside the Kellum Law Firm on Greenville Boulevard.
The gunman allegedly left the law firm and then headed to a Walmart across the street. Once at the store, the gunman allegedly entered the store and shot three more individuals. When police responded, the gunman then went into the Walmart parking lot and allegedly began firing at law enforcement, officials tell news. Greenville police have taken the man into custody. They also confirm that Greenville Boulevard and neighboring streets could be closed until evening.
Dianna Gee, a spokeswoman for Walmart, confirms that they are assisting the investigation. Walmart says that they will provide their surveillance video to law enforcement. One victim is believed to be a young adult. A man told news that his daughter and nephew were among the injured. The other victim is believed to be a male in his 60s. A news briefing is scheduled for this afternoon.
