ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A new Colorado Springs Fire Evacuation Map 2013 today caused major concern for Black Forest Fire officials. A new Colorado Springs mandatory evacuation order zone emerged late today June 13, 203 after a news briefing by officials. The news also came as indication that the Black Forest Fire has now become the most destructive in state history.
The latest Colorado Springs Fire Evacuation Map aka Black Forest Fire Evacuation Map was announced to news roughly an hour ago. There were two changes to it.
First, the City of Colorado springs issued a new mandatory evacuation order. They said that their zone is now “the north border is North Gate Boulevard and Old North Gate Road.” Meantime, the “south border is Flying Horse Club Drive, Vine Cliff Heights, Equinox Drive, Serenity Park Drive, Barossa Valley Road and Veneto Way.” Officials are putting residents on the east and western section on alert as well. “The east border is highway 83 and the west border is Voyager Parkway.” Officials tell news that a mandatory evacuation means that residents are in immediate danger.
Second, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s increased their mandatory evacuation area tonight. Their new boundary is “West: Sunhills Drive and Granby Road; North: Baptist Road including Fox Run Park; South: Old North Gate.” But they are also reporting that “New evacuation area does NOT include Rangely Drive, DOES include eastern Walsen Rd.”
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office also had other had new updates as of 5:43 PM EST tonight. First a new shelter has been opened. It is “located at UCCS – 1420 Austin Bluffs Parkway. No pets accepted.” Second, they are also released to news a Black Forest Fire help telephone number tonight. “The Black Forest Disaster Assistance Center telephone number is 719-444-8301.” Finally they are warning residents of smoke and breathing. “If wildfire smoke is triggering mild symptoms, take medications as prescribed if you are on medication.”
This evening, official told news that the Black Forest Fire has now destroyed more homes than any other Colorado fire in history. The total number is now at 360. The fire is currently at fifteen thousand acres as well.
