LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Today’s Colorado Fire Map 2013 aka the Colorado Wildfires Map grew with updates overnight on the Colorado Springs Fire Map, the Royal Gorge Fire, the Big Meadows Fire, the Black Forest, and also the Klikus Fire aka the Huerfano County Fire near La Veta. The Colorado Fires Map situation today June 12, 2013 is becoming problematic for officials. They are warning news of a lack of resources and manpower with the blazes advancing swiftly due to poor weather temperatures.

The latest update on the Colorado Fire Map 2013 depicts the three neighboring Colorado Springs wildfires. They are the Royal Gorge Fire, the Big Meadows Fire, and the Black Forest. While national news has been mentioning the Royal Gorge Fire more this morning, it is actually not the closest wildfire to Colorado Springs. The Royal Gorge Fire is near Canon City and west of Florence. It is being battled by the Canon City Area Fire Protection District and is now south of the Royal Gorge. The Royal Gorge Fire is at 3800 acres currently, officials tell news. Mandatory Evacuations are in place today from Parkdale to the Canon City Water treatment plant, north of the Royal Gorge.

Second, as reported earlier on LALATE today, the Black Forest Fire is prompting the greatest concern for Colorado Springs residents. Dubbed simply as the “Colorado Springs Fire”, it is located just east of Cottonwood Creek Park, east of I-25. It is situated near the North Gate Boulevard exit off I-25. “The weather is not working with us, but our guys are giving it a heck of a shot,” officials told news latest night. Officials are warning of lack of resources. “The challenge we are facing is a lack of manpower”, they tell news.

Third, the Big Meadows Fire is burning in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It is set west of Highway 25 and north of Granby.

Fourth, the Klikus Fire is now at 50 acres. It is burning four miles west of La Veta in Huerfano County, officials tell news. Mandatory evacuations are in place for sections of central Huerfano County. An evacuation shelter has been established at Huerfano Community Center. The latest Colorado Springs Fire Map is below.
