LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Louisburg, North Carolina tornado 2013 today has hit the region. The tornado is set to move to Ingleside, North Carolina as well. Officials tell news today June 20, 2013 that a Louisburg, North Carolina tornado touched down. The National Weather Service in Raleigh, North Carolina indicates that their Doppler radar spotted a “tornado over Louisburg” today. It was moving northeast at 30 mph, reps tell news.
NWS reports that Ingleside, North Carolina could be impacted today. As a result, a tornado warning for northern Franklin County in central North Carolina is in place until 6:15 PM EST, reps tell news..
Officials also tell news that this system is a rain-wrapped tornado. Hence it may be “difficult to see.” Meantime a Tornado Watch continues until 10:00 PM EDT Monday evening for central North Carolina, reps tell news.
A tornado watch is in place for various counties elsewhere throughout the sate. NWS also indicates to news that a “Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT tonight…numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms will produce rainfall amounts between an inch and two inches in a relatively short time span with local amounts near three inches possible.”
