Officials tell news just after 1 pm PST that a Franklin, Kentucky tornado today destroyed a local home. The news came after a Kentucky tornado warning was issued for Allen and Simpson Counties . Moments ago, officials added a new warning for Logan as well.
Moments ago the NWS Storm Prediction Center told news that a warning was issued for southern and eastern Kentucky, eastern Tennessee and far western Virginia. They indicated to news that threat included large hail events, severe damaging winds with gusts up to 70 mph, and “a few tornadoes possible”.
Moments ago Weather Underground said that “A tornado has destroyed a house near Franklin, Kentucky.” Tornado warnings and watches are widespread today. Watches are underway from South Carolina to Southern New Jersey. A Tennessee tornado warning and Maryland tornado warning has been issued today as well.
