ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma tornado 2013 today left damage near Tulsa. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma tornado today May 30, 2013 touched down late Thursday night. Officials are reporting massive traffic backups and some power outages tonight.
As the Broken Arrow tornado was approaching, Tulsa Channel 8 tweeted just before 10 pm EST the threat to residents. “Broken Arrow residents need to seek shelter. Dangerous situation.” They noted that power flashes were spotted in the area as the tornado touched down. They described the system as a “rain wrapped tornado”.
The Broken Arrow tornado tonight reportedly touched down between 91st and 101 street at 8:40 pm tonight, local news indicated. It moved then eastward at 25 mph. Kristin Dickerson reported that the Broken Arrow tornado moved near the “Hwy 51 and Creek turnpike”. One local resident showed the system moving between houses near 41st and 209th E. Ave. tonight.
Meteorologist Pete Snyder is telling news that the there was “considerable damage”. Local police are currently reporting no injuries currently. But damage is being noted near Highway 51 tonight.
