Weather reports now indicate to news that the Copake, NY tornado is moving swiftly toward Massachusetts towns tonight. The Weather Channel’s producer Shawn Reynolds reported at the top of the hour that the tornado moving through Copake. “Reports of #tornado in progress near Copake, NY – moving east at 35 mph #NYwx”. As a result, the National Weather Service is warning residents that the tornado coming moving in Massachusetts. A tornado warning for Berkshire County, MA remains in place until 5:30 PM, officials tell news.
Boston.com is reporting the same as well. At the top of the hour, it reported that the tornado was spotted in Copake, but could be in “Great Barrington by 5:15 p.m., Sheffield, Ashley Falls, Eddy Field, Canaan by 5:20 p.m.” Additionally the National Weather Service is warning that the tornado could be in Sandisfield and Otis by 5:30 PM tonight.
