LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Moore Oklahoma tornado today 2013 has destroyed homes and sections of several schools. The Moore Oklahoma tornado today May 20, 2013 has left a large path of destruction. The tornado struck south of Oklahoma City shortly after 4 pm EST Monday.
The Moore Oklahoma tornado has reportedly destroyed several businesses and educational buildings. KFOR is airing aerial footage of one school that suffered massive damage stating “that’s another school”. KFOR confirms that the Plaza Towers school suffered damage. But the station is uncertain about the second school. “Two schools hit in Monroe… Moore tornado hit Plaza Towers school. Working to confirm other Moore school hit.” Local news is unsure if the two schools were “damaged” or destroyed. One station is reporting that both schools are “destroyed”.
There was damage to the Warren Theatre, local news is reporting as well. KFOR is calling it “devastation” across the region, noting that an entire “trailer park [is] gone”. As to residential damage, most of the focus is on May. Significant residential damage is being reported on South 149 Street at May currently.
Thirty minutes ago, local news reported that the tornado may have grown from a half mile in width to now 1.25 miles wide. No injuries have been reported.
