LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Laguna Niguel fire and a Santa Clarita fire today 2013 (fire maps below) have both erupted this afternoon. A Laguna Niguel fire 2013 was threatening structures shortly after 2 pm PST today. But officials report that it is now contained. The Santa Clarita fire 2013, meantime, is still being battled.
First, the Laguna Niguel fire today May 10, 2013 erupted in the afternoon hours. Officials deemed it a brush fire, and reported that it posed a threat initially to structures on 29101 Kite Hill Drive.
Just before 3 pm PST today, however, officials confirmed that the fire was contained. Capt. Stone of the Orange County Fire Authority now tells news that the fire was contained at fire acres. But firefighters are still trying to complete knockdown of the fire. No persons were injured. And no structural damage has been reported.
Then, a second Santa Clarita fire was reported on Golden Valley Road at Robert C Lee Parkway. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station shared the above image at roughly 2:45 pm PST stating “Brush Fire – Golden Valley Road at Robert C Lee Pkwy – S of Center Pointe”. It later added “Fri 2:50p – 2 acre brush fire on Golden Valley Road north of Sierra Highway”.
