LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Robel Phillipos of Cambridge, 19, has been arrested as the third new suspect in the Boston bombing case. Robel Phillipos has been charged with allegedly making false statements to officials investigating the case the Boston bombings.
The Robel Phillipos federal criminal complaint was just released to news. He is charged under 18 USC Section 101(a)(2) for “knowingly and willfully make materially false statements to federal investigators in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the United States to wit a terrorism investigation.” No Facebook nor Twitter account has yet to be identified for Robel. But at least one man mentioned in his criminal complaint does appear on the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Russian Facebook account.
The complaint obtained by LALATE moments ago asserts that Robel Phillipos was “another friend of Tsarnaev” and that he “knowingly and willfully made material false statements to federal law enforcement investigators during a terrorism investigation.”
The complaint assert that a confession was finally given on April 26, 2013 allegedly by Robel Phillipos. It assets that he allegedly “confessed that he lied to the agents during his previous interview. He was then re-interviewed and an agent prepared a written statement based on the interview.”
Robel Phillipos allegedly admits that the entered Tsarnaev’s dorm room on April 18, 2013 and removed a backpack from the room. He says he did “not understand the majority of what …. were saying because they were speaking in Russian.”
