Roanoke, Virginia Mall Shooting 2013 Strikes New River Valley College


LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Roanoke, Virginia Mall shooting 2013 today has ended. The gunman is in custody after shooting two women in the New River Community College branch campus inside the New River Valley Mall.

In a news briefing moments ago, officials told news that the violence erupted shortly before 2 pm today. A man walked into New River Community College campus inside the mall. Once inside the lobby he aimed a gun at one woman. Witnesses heard three shots. Two women were injured by gunfire. The suspect was quickly taken into custody.

The status of the two victims shot remains unknown. Once person was removed on a stretcher while another had to be airlifted out of the mall to a local area hospital.

Some persons close bye heard gunshots. Others believed the sound was muffled and seemed to sound like a slamming door.

Josh Brown, a student at NRCC, told the Roanoke Times “I heard one gunshot, and I didn’t know what it was. I saw people running out.” He added “I’ll be scared to come back to school,” he said, and started to cry. “What’s wrong with people? Who would do something like this?”
