ST LOUIS (LALATE) – An earthquake in Iran today 2013 continued to shake Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Following the 6.3 magnitude Iran earthquake yesterday, major aftershock activity is striking Wednesday. The latest quake began this morning.
Officials tell news that a 5.2 magnitude quake hit the region today Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Like yesterday, today’s quake had a nominal depth. USGS indicates to news the quakes are continuing to erupt only six miles below the earth’s surface. As a result they are being felt in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other sections of the Middle East.
USGS reports to news that the latest quake struck at 11:29 am local time today. It was centered fifty-seven miles west of Firuzabad, Iran. It began sixty-four miles southeast of Borazjan and sixty-five miles east of Bandar Bushehr. The quake also stuck eighty miles south of Kazerum.
In related news, a Washington state earthquake began today. A 3.4 magnitude quake started at 8:32 am PST and began two miles southeast of Blyn. The quake was seven miles from Bell Hill and eight from Sequin. Officials tell news that the quake was thirty-nine miles from Seattle and twenty-three from Port Angeles. It was also roughly forty miles from Saanich, British Columbia, Canada.
