Fillmore Fire 2013: CA Brush Fire Prompts Goodenough Incident Evacuations fire map

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Fillmore Fire 2013 (fire map below) has now prompted evacuations. The Fillmore Fire aka the Goodenough Incident is burning in Ventura County today April 8, 2013. The fire is the second of two blazes to erupt in Fillmore. It has been named the Goodenough Incident after it started in the 1400 block of Goodenough Road of North Fillmore today.

Officials tell news as of 7 pm PST the Fillmore Fire has destroyed one house, is threatening others, and has prompted mandatory evacuations. First, one home has been destroyed in the 1200 block of Goodenough Road. That is not the same home that was reported burning on LALATE at 3 pm. Rather, the roof on a mobile home was lost in a separate structural fire.

Ventura County Fire tells news that out buildings, at least one car, and several acres have been burning. The Fillmore Fire is spreading fast, fueled by strong winds in the area. The fire is currently threatening homes on Foothill, Morris, Teitsort and Hunter roads, officials tell news.

Of note, this fire is unrelated to the earlier fire in the region earlier today, in the 1200 block of Grand Avenue. No homes were lost in that fire.

Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Mike Lindbery tells news that the Fillmore Fire is still not contained. Mandatory evocations as of 7 pm PST are in place for residents on Morris Dr. and Hunter Dr. Fillmore Fire is believed to have reached 50 acres within the hour. No containment has yet to be indicated to news. For continuing coverage, click HERE.
