LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Poker champ has been arrested for solicitation of prostitution. Greg Raymer aka FossilMan (mugshot photo above) was arrested Wednesday. He was arrested during a sting operation.

Six men included Greg Raymer allegedly fell for an advertisement featuring a woman promising services for a fee. The woman promised to meet up with her clients in a North Carolina hotel in Wake Forest. But when the alleged male clients showed up, the didn’t find the female but law enforcement.

Each man including Raymer was booked and thereafter released on a $1000 bond. Raymer has yet to comment about the matter. And neither has his wife. His earnings are reportedly in the millions having nabbed the 2004 World Series of Poker title worth $5 million. Cheryl Raymer and Greg have a seventeen year old daughter. Word Series of Poker claims Raymer’s earnings now sit at $6,534,032

Police Chief Jeffrey Leonard said that the advertisement was an easy trap placed by law enforcement. Leonard said in a news statement today that “In this instance, we conducted the operation at a local hotel with its full cooperation. ” He added ” We are not aware of this type of criminal activity ever occurring at the hotel. Our officers selected the hotel for the undercover operation at random.”
