LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kenny Clutch is dead in a Las Vegas shooting. Rapper Kenny Clutch was murdered in Las Vegas on the strip Thursday by persons driving a Range Rover. Before the attack on Clutch (Kenneth Cherry Jr.) was over, three persons were left dead and three were injured.
Rapper Kenny Clutch had exited the Aria Resort and Casino Thursday. He was driving in a Maserati shortly after 4:20 am. Inside the Maserati was an unnamed passenger. Thereafter, a black Range Rover pulled near Clutch and began to open fire. Clutch was shot, his passenger suffering only minor injuries.
Police tell news that Clutch’s car swerved into oncoming traffic. Clutch then impacted several cars, crashing into a cab, and killing both the cab driver and the passenger. A massive fire ball exploded in the middle of the street.
Officer Jose Hernandez of the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department and Sheriff Doug Gillespie confirm to news that the shooters escaped. A manhunt is now underway across Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California. Las Vegas Police Sgt. John Sheahan tells police that the Range Rover had dealer plates form another state.
Cherry was from Oakland. His as attorney Vicki Greco issued a news statement to CNN this week that “He didn’t have a (criminal) record or a history. He was just a good kid trying to make it and be a good father.” She added “Out of everyone I know in the rapping industry, there is no way I would have ever, ever expected to find that he was shot on the Las Vegas strip in such an aggressive manner.”
