LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When is Joe Giudice’s trial date? Joe Giudice will get a trial date set during a status conference on February 25, 2013, his attorney confirms to news. And Teresa Giudice could be taking the stand if needed. Joe intends to fight any threat of prison or jail stemming from his criminal case.
The state offered Joe a plea deal in which he would serve five years in state prison (not local jail), but assured Giudice that he could be eligible for probation. Giudice declined. Passaic County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jay Mc Cann is handling the case against Giudice reportedly. The case was set originally with a June 27, 2012. But that deadline has been rolled over several times thereafter.
Giudice is purportedly facing two charges, the first being the more serious. The second carries a possible ten year prison term if convicted. A fourth degree charge carries only an 18 month jail term if convicted.
The case stems from Joe’s actions three years ago. First in January of 2010 he was arrested and later convicted of a DUI offense. He then learned his license was suspended. Fans of RHONJ watched as Joe opened a pizzeria during that time. But in one week of working at the pizzeria, Joe drove with a suspended license. He was arrested again. Giudice went to jail inside Morris County at the time.
Then began the alleged events which rose to the current charges. Police claim that Joe – with a suspended license, jail sentence and DUI convection – took his brother’s Pietro Giudicie’s marriage and birth certificate to allegedly attempt to get a fraudulent driver’s license at the Paterson, N.J. DMV.
So what will happen if Joe heads to prison? Multiple unconfirmed reports claim that Bravo may send Teresa and her children into a spinoff while Joe is gone. Other reports claim that Teresa may pen an autobiography about the matter as well.
