LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Eden Hazard is charged and could be suspended for kicking ball boy Charlie Morgan. Eden Hazard, the Chelsea star who kicked a ball boy this week, faces a multiple game suspension after being charged today for violent conduct by the Football Association.
Eden Hazard told news that his kicking of ball boy Charlie Morgan this week was accidental. The FA did not agree. It ruled today that ordinances are “clearly insufficient” for Hazard’s conduct.
Hazard kicked the ball boy during the Swansea City Capital One Cup semi-final. Chelsea came into the match with a deficit. And then, as the clock ticked down, Chelsea struggled to score. Suddenly, Hazard kicked the ball boy.
FA in a news statement today claims the conduct by the midfielder was allegedly intentionally. FA ruled that clubs have “their responsibilities in ensuring ball boys and other personnel around the pitch act in an appropriate manner at all times”. Hazard may appeal the decision by Tuesday. If he doesn’t, he could be suspended three to four games.
Hazard told news this week that the ball boy allegedly apologized to him. Hazard has claimed that he is innocent. Hazard says “The boy put his whole body onto the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball and I think I kicked the ball and not the boy. I apologies.”
