LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are dating. Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. confirmed to news that they are dating after weeks of speculation about their relationship. This is Patrick’s first relationship since her divorce from Paul Hospenthal.

In January, Patrick confirmed to news that she and Paul Hospenthal were divorcing. At the time they confirmed their relationship was “irretrievably broken.” Now Patrick, 30, is finding happiness on the track.

Danica tells news this week that she didn’t want her relationship to overshadow equipment manufactures and sponsors seeking to publicize their products this week. Patrick tells news that she waited until Friday out of courtesy to those vendors.

Stenhouse had little to say about the relationship. But he too confirmed that he was cautious when and how to come public with the relationship. “Yes we are dating,” he told FOX News “I don’t normally say too much about my private life, always been focused on the track. I didn’t want to confirm at media day so that we could keep the focus on the season, the Gen-6 (car), my sponsors and team. That’s what it’s all about for me.”

When Patrick first made the move to NASCAR, she admitted it would be tough. “I knew last year going into it, doing both Indy Car and NASCAR, NASCAR for the first time, I knew it was probably going to be my toughest year ever, and it was” Patrick explained. Insiders claim that Stenhouse has been a sort of mentor for Patrick in her switch to NASACR.

One rocker, meantime, made news in February expressing his interest in Patrick. When asked by news which driver has sparked his interest, Lenny Kravitz said at the time. “Danica. What? I have to. I have to. I’ve been watching her on TV. I have to.”
