LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tunisia vs. Algeria 2013 (live score below) kicks off the second of two Africa Cup of Nations Group D games today. Tunisia is hoping to improve on its 2012 showing in the Cup when the nation reached the quarterfinals. Last year, they were eliminated from the tournament in a one goal difference by Ghana. Can they defeat Algeria today?

Tuesday’s Tunisia vs. Algeria 2013 game (start time 10 am PST) will start a far more active year for Algeria’s team. Last year, Algeria only competed in two major matches, both CAF World Cup qualifiers, news analysts remind fans. First in June, the team shocked news with a stunning 4-0 defeat of Rwanda. Eight days later, they came back, however, to be defeated by Mali in a one goal spread. Algeria after the 2013 Cup next heads back to the qualifiers to face Benin in Round Two continued action.

Tunisia, in turn, had a successful run in 2012. They team won both of its CAF Round Two qualifiers in the World Cup. First they defeated Equatorial Guinea. Then they came back to defeat Cape Verde Islands before four thousand fans, officials tell news.

But Tunisia is hoping to revenge its quarterfinals elimination in the African Nations Cup last year to Ghana. Earlier, they had defeated Morocco and Niger in the group stage, only to be defeated in their third match by Gabon. But in a 2-1 final score, Ghana sent Tunisia packing after the quarterfinals.
