Cuoco Joins Shatner as Priceline Negotiator Secret Daughter
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kaley Cuoco is joining William Shatner in new Priceline commercials, a year after the company told news that The Negotiator was dead. William Shatner’s Priceline Negotiator character perished in a bus explosion off a bridge, a year ago this month, so viewers believed.
But now, Shatner in his fifteenth year with Priceline, is revealing a new surprise: a secret on-air daughter. And he is ready to battle new enemies with lower prices as well.
In a news statement in January 2012, Priceline explained “We decided to do something really over the top to get the message across.” Christopher Soder, chief exec of Priceline.com North America said that the death was needed for the character.
“I’m in grief mode,” the Shatner said in a news statement at the time. “It’s not the first time I’ve had an iconic character die off.”
This time, Shatner is back negotiating deals with an unlikely sidekick, Cuoco, playing his daughter. The “secret daughter” was unveiled today in news commercials hitting YouTube and a national campaign.The campaign spots will begin January 14 and air throughout the year, officials tell news.
