LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – T-Boz delivered TLC a big ratings hit last week. And tonight, Totally T-Boz is back with more album, tour, and music disputes. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins delivered what Tamar Braxton couldn’t with WETV’s premiere episode last year: big ratings and lots of anticipation. Last week, T-Boz narrowly missed a 1.0 ratings share. And yet, as some fans noted, T-Boz’s premiere was even down from the former premiere of What Chilli Wants on VH-1.
Music reality shows generally start with a singer discussing their hopes and aspirations. But last week, T-Boz flipped that format. She revealed to news that her aspirations are without TLC, at last for now. T-Boz delivered an artfully produced show, full of music disputes and family drama from the start.
T-Boz was confronted with the ability to perform with Chilli for a new album, tour and tracks for a TLC reunion. But T-Boz, having moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles, took Chilli to picturesque Marina del Rey to deliver gloomy news. She is done with TLC. At least that is what she initially revealed to news last week.
T-Boz justified her decision with other pending music gigs. She claimed that she he had a lot of offers to write music for other acts. But is that more lucrative, or was T-Boz’s health at stake?
Chilli tells T-Boz that she is turning her back on her fans, and her legacy. And with that, an excellent reality show was born. The premiere delivered a 0.937 ratings share, officials tell news. While not as high as what Toni Braxton pulls in Braxton Family Values, Totally T-Boz also fell short of the 1.3 premiere by Chilli on VH1’s What Chilli Wants.
In a news statement this week, T-Boz said “Unlike a lot of shows I turned down, the network was interested in following my life and some of the positive things, not just doing the train wreck. They’re interested in doing something that has substance but we can have fun along the way.”
