Ann Curry Begs NBC Contract Exit for CNN Gig

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Ann Curry has begged NBC to let her out of her contract so she can take a lucrative job at CNN, claims news. Ann Curry has begged NBC as the network has kept her on staff but yet to give her once lead position on the Today Show.
Curry’s new target is CNN. There her former Today Show head, Jeff Zucker, has been hired. Zucker in February will become CNN Worldwide President. His duties will be to the revamp the network’s news network which has witnessed falling ratings in recent years.
Curry has been in contract-flux since Today last year removed her from the show’s lineup. Curry, now, however, could be heading to the evening schedule, on a competitor’s channel. CNN is reportedly considering adding Curry to an 8 pm time slot currently occupied by Anderson Cooper.
CNN has yet to comment about the matter. But an insider tells Radar Online that Curry may leave NBC with a fight. However, “If Ann were to just quit, there is a non-compete clause, which would prohibit her from working for another news outlet for two years.”
For now, “Ann wants out of her contract, big time. She has formally asked her attorney to explore exit options from the network”, reports Radar.
