ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Erica Menendez has been arrested in the NYC subway push case. Police claim that Erica Menendez pushed Sunando Sen in front of a New York City subway this week. Moreover, officials tell news today that Menendez has allegedly confessed to the crime and has said that she did it as a hate crime against Muslims.
Sunando Sen was an India native and raised Hindu, officials tells news. But during Sen’s encounter on Thursday at a NYC subway station in Sunnyside, Erica Menendez of the Bronx got angry at Sen. Officials would not indicate if Menendez suffers from any mental illness or not.
Menendez of the Bronx was taken in by investigators early Saturday. But during questioning, she confessed to the killing, claims Paul J. Browne, the chief spokesman for the Police Department, in a statement to the NY Times. Officials also tell news that Menendez will be charged with second degree murder as a hate crime because of her alleged statements during questioning. A source told the Times that she “told the cops it was an act against Muslims” and mentioned the 9/11 attack.
Just weeks earlier, Ki-* Han died after he was pushed in front of the Q train. Naeem Davis has been charged in that case.
