Tuesday December 25 marks the final federal holiday of the year, reps indicate to news.. Each year, the Office of Personnel Management issues the federal holidays by which federal, state, and local agencies must follow. But it’s time to mark the calendar for next year. Next Tuesday January 1 and then Monday January 21 are both federal holidays as well.
As officials tell news “Federal law (5 U.S.C. 6103) establishes the following public holidays for Federal employees.” They add “Please note that most Federal employees work on a Monday through Friday schedule. For these employees, when a holiday falls on a nonworkday — Saturday or Sunday — the holiday usually is observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).”
