LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adrian Peterson and girlfriend Elizabeth Brown aka Playboy’s Ashley Brown are battling an apparently false engagement report today. The purportedly false report by MediaTakeOut today claims that Adrian Peterson proposed to Ashley Brown on Sunday. So did Adrian Peterson (Vikings) get engaged “just” yesterday? The couple have been engaged since 2010, claims other news reports.

In a report published today, MTO wrote that Peterson allegedly “just got engaged”. MTO claims that it “just got word that yesterday … NFL star Adrian Peterson popped the question to longtime GF Ashley.”

While MTO “just… got word” of the engagement today, the couple have been engaged reportedly for years. In 2010, the Star Tribune reported the couple’s engagement. The Tribune told news in 2010 that “The couple has been engaged for some time, but Peterson hasn’t announced the news to media… She now lives with him in [Minnesota] and was most recently spotted with the NFL player during a trip [in March to promote the NFL in] South Africa before the World Cup.”

That same month, TerezOwens.com reported the couple’s engagement as well. And in August 2011, Black Sports Online detailed the couple’s engagement with an update.
