Dolly Parton Shoots Down Nickname
ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Dolly Parton shot down nickname ideas from Michael Strahan hours after she battled allegations about Judy Ogle, again. Dolly Parton shot the nickname proposals during a visit on the ABC talker Live with Kelly and Michael yesterday. The day earlier she appeared on Nightline to dispute claims about Judy Ogle, the same claims she has denied for decades.
First, Parton told Michael and news that she was recently given an honorary degree by the University of Tennessee. When Michael realized that Dr. Dolly Parton was in his presence, he turned to her and said “So now that you have your doctorate, do we call you Dr. Dolly or Double D?” Parton having the last laugh shot down the nickname suggestion, prompting Michael to meekly reply “It’s an innocent question!”

Parton had appeared on Nightline the day before. During that telecast, she disputed Judy Ogle claims once again. “Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade. We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we’re not romantically involved.”
Parton also compared her relationship with Ogle to that between Oprah and her friends. “Like Gail, [Oprah’s] friend, and Judy, my friend, they just think that you just can’t be that close to somebody.”
