ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A girl chained to a dresser has died, officials tell news. Jersey Bridgeman was chained to a dresser last year by her father. That father is now in state prison in Arkansas. But on Tuesday, officials found the body of Jersey Bridgeman dead of an apparent homicide.
Officials on the Jersey Bridgeman case confirm that her death is being ruled a homicide. Officials would not indicate to news how that determination was reached. She was found inside an abandoned home hours after she was reported missing. Jersey was six years old.
Just last June, her father David Bridgeman was convicted of imprisonment, permitting abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor. Also convicted was her step mother, Jana Bridgeman, aka Jana Slinkar.
Police have yet to tell news if any suspects have been detained. In the original case, the police report stated “It should be noted that the chain that David used was approximately one to two feet in length and appeared to be a dog choke collar”. The investigator also noted “He said that he thinks she may be sleepwalking and that they discussed buying a child gate, but since he does not have a job, they could not afford to buy one at that time.”
