Carol Burnett Sued by Bob Banner Associates for DVDs
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Carol Burnett is being sued by Bob Banner Associates over DVDs being released from her hit television show The Carol Burnett Show. Carol Burnett and Time Life began releasing the DVDs just recently. The DVD deal, which may include VHS and Blue-Ray rights, consummated in 2012, claims the complaint.
Burnett has yet to comment to news about the suit. But Banner’s company asserts that he co-created the Carol Burnett Show and Mama’s Family with Burnett’s company Whacko, Inc. The company claims that the deal afforded him a co production credit from 1967 to 1972. The suit also claims that, one year after Banner died, Burnett allegedly inked the deal. The suit also assets that, under his purported original agreement with Whacko, he is entitled to profits from such exploitations.
The case has been filed in Los Angeles Superior Court asserting lost profits and account. Amazon listings currently indicate the DVD release date as “September 25, 2012†and the credited distributor as Time Life Entertainment. Currently, several of those DVDs are ranked in the top twenty in Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank.
“All the episodes in the DVD collections were personally chosen by Carol, and all DVDs feature full, unedited episodes as they originally aired on television”, say the Amazon listing.

I did some shows with Carol Burnett once. Helped her write some good ones and she never gave me anything. I was a minor. I wish she would give me some credit for the shows or something. It wasn’t fair and I know there was a monkey on her back. I wish someone would come forward in me and my sons behalf. xoxoxoxoo
