LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kandi Burruss and boyfriend Todd Tucker both considered leaving RHOA. Burruss tells news that she and Tucker, her line producer last season, knew that they could not return to the show this season in the same capacity. She says that she and Todd were both prepared to leave the show if Bravo requested it. But instead, producers agreed that Todd could join RHOA on-air, leave his RHOA producing role, and instead work in production on another program.
Kandi tells news that this season fans will see more drama than usual. “It is a lot of drama this season. We have the new girls, and they are going to set it off all season long. Kenya definitely keeps things spicy.” Kandi also says of Kenya that she “is definitely a little over the top all the time but she is fun. But she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about anything.”
But the big difference for Kandi this season was her relationship with Todd. “This year is different, I am in a relationship. We have moved in together.”
When asked by VH1 how Kandi and Todd revealed their relationship to Bravo, Kandi said “I did not think we were allowed to do it. So he was willing to resign from the show. At first it was hush hush and then we got to a point that we were like, whatever, we don’t care what anyone thinks about it.”
So Todd left the RHOA producing role to join the show on air (for which he is paid as well). “He doesn’t really work on our show anymore, but he still works for the company, but just on another show because they were supportive of us.” Kandi adds “we were both prepared to leave the show [if they asked us].”
