LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Juliana Redding photos are being revised as the Kelly Soo Park murdered case begins. Juliana Redding Maxim pictures and details about her then cold case were examined on LALATE in 2009. Redding was a 21 year old resident of Santa Monica. She was working as an aspiring actor and a bartender in a Venice Beach establishment. But for years her case remained unsolved. Now, Kelly Soo Park is heading to trial, charged with Juliana’s murder.
Redding appeared in the 2005 graffiti film Kathy T Gives Good Hoover”. One year later, she had moved to So Cal, was living in Santa Monica and working at bar in Venice Beach. In 2008 she was found murdered. Her case, while dominating local news, remained unsolved.
By 2009, the matter still remained a cold case. As reported on LALATE at the time, national news telecasts, including one by Nancy Grace at the time, tried to find new clues. LAPD had told news at the time “Those media reports are not accurate. The cause of death was not blunt force trauma. The file has been sealed by police, so we cannot disclose the actual cause of death.”
Finally in 2010, an arrest was effectuated against Kelly Soo Park, a 44 year old resident of Camarillo. SMC’s DA said it took two years and thousands of hours to break this cold case. Park had previously lived in Thousand Oaks.
Redding had appeared in Maxim’s Hometown Hotties after moving from Arizona to Los Angeles. Redding attended Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona. Park is charged with allegedly murdered Juliana Redding on March 15, 2008. Police now confirm that the cause of death was beating and strangulation.
The prosecutor’s complaint references the defendant’s boyfriend, Ronnie Case, a race car driver. “Both before and after the murder of Ms. Redding, the defendant and Mr. Case worked as muscles… frequently using tactics of threats and intimidation to facilitate favorable terms for the doctor’s business enterprises.”
Prosecutors also claim that “[Park] has committed other distinctive acts of misconduct against similar victims under similar circumstances which exhibit common features of threats, intimidation and bullying for the purpose of assisting Dr. Uwaydah’s business interests.”
The motivation allegedly was alleged attempts to get money from Munir Uwaydah, a Lebanese doctor and businessman, and friend of Redding. Park’s attorney says “nothing like what prosecutors allege actually happened.”
