Maksim Chmerkovskiy Leaving Dancing with the Stars

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Maksim Chmerkovskiy is leaving Dancing with the Stars. Maksim Chmerkovskiy says he will leave DWTS after the current upcoming season. Maksim says his calling is to appear in a reality TV show about himself. But will critics agree?
Maksim Chmerkovskiy currently hosts The Cube in the Ukraine. He also next appears in a feature film. But he tells the NY Post that he is tired of bolstering other people’s careers. “Essentially, 80% of our job is to give somebody another push in their career. Or we make them into likable characters. But at the end of the day, they go off and they better themselves.”
He says that rather than helping other celebrities’ careers he wants to help himself. “I loved doing it. But to be honest with you, at 32, I am at what-about-me time.”
Maks returns with Kirstie Alley for the show’s stellar All-Star season kicking off next week. The two finished runners-up previously in season 12. “We may have had a couple of weeks last time that we cruised on popularity or fan appeal or whatever” he tells the Post. DWTS kicks off next Monday with live coverage here.
