LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Julian Fire Map 2012 is prompting California wildfire evacuations today. The Julian Fire 2012 is located northeast of San Diego County Estates and Ramona. Officials also tell news the the fire is east of Poway and Escondido.
In a news briefing today, Julian Fire officials reported that the blaze erupted shortly after 1:18 pm. The blaze as of 3 pm PST today has grown to fifteen acres. The fire is north of Julian, officials tell news, near Wynola Road and Farmers Road and close to Wynola.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection report that no structures have been destroyed. The fire prompted evacuation near Highway 78 and Wynola Road.
The fire is being battled by one water tender. Officials also confirm two air tankers and twenty five engines are on scene. But officials confirm that the fire is currently under control. Eight fire crews, there helicopters and a bulldozer are aiding the effort tonight.
Officials have yet to reach containment. But they confirm that the fire is not advancing currently. The fire’s smoke could be seen within miles around the area. SigAlert has told news that Wynola Road between Banner Grade and Farmers Road is closed.
