Chelsea vs. Juventus 2012: Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres Seek Win

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – When Chelsea vs. Juventus 2012 takes to the field Wednesday (live score below), Chelsea fans will hope that their team’s Champions League season begins as great as its Premier League season has done. For Chelsea, the success in the Premier this summer has come from Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres. They, along with Branislav Ivanovic, have each produced two goals this season.
Last weekend, Chelsea secured their slot in the number one position over Man United and Arsenal in the Premier League. In fact, as news noted last week, Chelsea is now the only team in the Premier League with three wins and no losses. They are trailed only by Man United with three wins and one loss.
But the key this summer for Chelsea has been both offense and defense. In four Premier games, the team only given up two goals. But for Chelsea to win Wednesday, they can’t have another shocker like last weekend’s match against QPR. In that game, Chelsea had its first scoreless match of the season, resulting in a draw.
In its season opener against Wigan, Chelsea’s goals came from Ivanovic and Lampard, both in the first ten minutes of the game. Against Reading, however, both players scored again joined by Cahill and Torres at the sixty-nine and eighty-one minute marks, respectively. Finally against Newcastle, Chelsea numbers came from Torres again and a penalty kick by Eden Hazard.
Juventus comes into Wednesday’s match, however, having not been defeated this summer. The team beat Napoli and Parma in August and most recently Udinese and Genoa. For live score updates Wednesday, click HERE.
