Stoke City vs Manchester City 2012: Carlos Tévez Battles in Showdown

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – As fans get ready for Stoke City vs Manchester City 2012 this Saturday, the key for the match still remains Carlos Tévez. In Man City’s three starts this season, Carlos Tévez has dominated scoring. He has also kept Man City at the top of the leaderboard for the Premier League this season. Can he do the same tomorrow?
Stoke City vs Manchester City 2012 (start time 10 am EST) will feature a top ranked and midrange team in the Premier League this season. Stoke City enters Saturday’s showdown ranked twelfth in the league with three draws in its three opening matches
As news analysts remind fans, however, Man City is ranked fourth with two wins, one draw and no losses. A win Saturday by Man could move the team possibly into the number one or two slot in the league. For live score updates Saturday, click HERE.
Yet, the man who could deliver the win Saturday for Man City is Carlos Tévez. Tévez has scored in his team’s win against Southampton, its draw against Liverpool, and its win against QPR.
Against QPR, Tévez delivered a late goal at the ninety minute mark to secure the team’s win against QPR. Other goals from Manchester City came from Yaya Toure and Edin Dzeko.
As news analysts noted, Tévez was most critical in his team’s draw against Liverpool. At the eighty minute mark, Man City was facing its first loss of the season. Luis Suarez and Martin Skrtel had given Liverpool a 2-1 lead over City. But at the eighty minute mark, Tévez tied up the game.
Tévez has not only been the last but often the first player for Man to score per game. He did the same for the team’s narrow defeat of Southampton, striking at the forty minute mark.
The season hasn’t been as stellar for Stoke City. The team earned a draw in its last match against Wigan. It earned a draw against Arsenal in August. And it secured a draw in its opener against Reading. But as news analysts note, Stoke City has delivered a mere three goals in three games this season. That will not be enough to stop the drive by Tévez and Man City. Stoke’s only goals this season have come from Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch against Wigan and Michael Kightly against Reading.
