Los Angeles Fire Map 2012 Today Prompts Wildfire Concerns

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Los Angeles Fires 2012 (fire maps below) are quickly being controlled by 5 pm tonight. The Los Angeles Fires today September 14, 2012 all erupted in the late afternoon, and were situated near Getty Center Drive, Bel Air, Brentwood and Encino. But despite initial news confusion, no residents are reportedly yet under evacuation and no homes have been damaged.
Officials confirm that there are three current live fires in Los Angeles today. They are the Getty Center Drive Fire 2012, the Coldwater Canyon Fire 2012, and the Encino Fire 2012. Many of these wildfires, however, are only hotspots by 5 pm tonight. Officials have yet to indicate containment numbers. But water-drops have been effective and eliminating much of these blazes tonight.
First, the Getty Center Fire was a misnomer. The reason is because the fire was situated on the east side of the 405 San Diego Freeway, not the west side where the Getty Center is located. Initial erroneous news reports indicated that the museum was threatened, which was not the case.
The Getty Center Fire has been situated east of Sepulveda in the Bel Air hills. Fire crews have remained on ground and in air battling this blaze. Two air tankers and one hundred fighters are on scene.
Second, the Coldwater Canyon Fire has been battled by ground crews this afternoon. Officials confirm that this blaze is located 12800 block of Mulholland Drive.
A final fire is reported in the hills over Encino. And in related news, another fire is being reported in Orange County today on the Camp Pendleton Base. For continuing coverage, click HERE.
