Taylor Bridge Fire Held Outside of Cle Elum, Ellensburg City Lines

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Taylor Bridge Fire 2012 (fire map below) was able to be held outside Cle Elum and Ellensburg city lines last night. The Taylor Bridge Fire prompted a Kittitas Sheriff’s Office level 3 evacuation Wednesday night.
Official in a news briefing today report that the fire is still being held four miles outside of Cle Elum and Ellensburg. The wildfire has burned nearly twenty-three thousand acres, officials tell news, despite nearly eight-hundred forty firefighters on scene. The numbers of acres was adjusted Wednesday after new mapping was put in place.
Yet, Incident Commander Rex Reed tells news the fire’s growth potential still remains high. Moderate winds and high temps could still advance the fire today.
No additional residences were lost last night. The total count of home destroyed remains at sixty. Officials tell news today that the fire is still “wind driven and burning in grassland, sage and timber.”
The fire which erupted on Monday afternoon has been one of the strongest and fastest spreading wildfires nationally this week. For the latest fire updates and map, click HERE.
“I would expect we are at least five to seven days from full containment and control,” Reed said yesterday. Meantime, Conway Construction released the following statement to news yesterday. “A cause of the fire has yet to be established. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have suffered losses, those who remain in harm’s way, and those who are battling the blaze.”
