California Earthquake Today 2012 Strikes Bishop, East of Fresno

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A moderate California earthquake today 2012 has struck east of Fresno. The California earthquake today August 10, 2012 struck near Bishop and Mammoth and could be felt across the region. No reports of injuries have yet to be reported.
The California earthquake struck the state’s central region Friday. The quake erupted in the predawn morning hours, shortly after 1:05 AM local time, USGS indicates to news. The quake, however, registered a nominal depth. USGS reports to news that the quake erupted only eight miles below the earth’s surface. As a result, the quake could be felt west towards Fresno.
The quake struck only two miles from Bishop. The quake was centered four miles from West Bishop and Wilkerson, USGS indicates to news. The quake was also thirty-eight miles from Mammoth Lakers and roughly two hundred miles east of Fresno.
In related news, a strong quake struck Chile today. The quake erupted within the hour and was centered only six miles below the earth’s surface.

USGS indicates to news that the Chile quake was approximately five hundred miles from Chonchi and Castro. The quake was roughly the same distance from Ancud and Puerto Quellon. No reports of damage have yet to be indicated by news.
