As reported on LALATE in 2008, the estate is from the 17th century estate, featuring over 1,000 acres of forest and vineyard. The Chateau is a working property, producing organic wines. The chateau is believed to feature 35 bedrooms, a lake, a pool, and a moat. Nearby celebrity homes have included residences for the Beckhams and Johnny Depp.

During extensive renovations of Miraval, Brangelina also stayed in Palais Parkschloss (Palais Schlosspark) in Germany for some time. That mansion featured 12,000 square meter, a 14 person staff, a private dock on Wannsee Lake, and your own landing pad.

But are Brangelina getting married this weekend? Some French news reports say they are, while others claim wedding reports are being fabricated by locals.

In fall 2008, LALATE reported that in Correns, a village in Provence in close proximity to Brangelina’s Chateau Miraval, residents were accused by French news of “making up stories about the couple for the paparazzi.” Additionally, “you will be treated to a free glass of pastis if you can get a particularly silly story published, mischievous residents said, declining to be named” so claimed reports at the time.

In fact, today’s reports are similar to those back in 2010. The British news then claimed that, Jane and Bill Pitt, Brad’s parents, were moving from Springfield, Missouri to the rolling hills of France’s Provence, permanently. Reports also claimed that Chateau Miraval was under massive renovations for a wedding.

France 3 Cote d’Azur TV claims today that a wedding is happening. “Everyone in town is talking about it; in Correns [the small village near Miraval], it’s common knowledge that the wedding is happening soon.”

But other French news  reports are disputing the same. “Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall. Unlike with a religious wedding, there’s no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home.” The Daily Mail reports “There’s a real buzz around the estate.” The paper also added “It is thought that the couple will wed in a private chapel in the grounds of their home, with civil ceremonies only allowed at the town hall in France.”
