Stroud Fire Map 2012 Expands as Oklahoma Wildfires Spreads

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Stroud Fire map 2012 expanded today as the Oklahoma wildfires spread. The Stroud Fire is currently spreading near the State Highway 99 and 970 Road. Officials are warning residents that the current Stroud fire has reignited a section of Tuesday’s fire. The current fire is southeast of Stroud.
NewsOK reports that the latest Stroud fire today August 8, 2012 erupted shortly after 1 pm. The fire is currently spreading near the Lincoln-Okfuskee county line.
Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Joey Wakefield initially told news that Tuesday’s fire was seventy-five percent contained. As many as three square miles had been burnt.
But as KFOR is reporting, the second fire has spread to one hundred acres and destroyed two structures today. The fire is currently being reported as “near Stroud at the Lincoln/Okfuskee/Creek County borders”, according to KFOR.
NewsOK is reporting that a dozen local fire departments are currently on scene. “We are at a point where we really need information from the public,” Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said in news statement earlier today. “The only way we are going to solve this case is if someone comes forward and gives us information that will lead to the arrest of the individual who committed this horrendous crime.”
