USA vs Australia 2012 Battle in Olympics Quarterfinals Basketball

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When USA vs Australia 2012 take to the court Wednesday (en vivo 22:15) for the Men’s Olympics quarterfinals of basketball, fans won’t particularly see the strongest pairings of the preliminary rounds. USA vs Australia 2012 will feature Team USA battling against the lowest advancing team out of Group B. Australia comes into Wednesday’s match with three wins but two loses. And yet Australia isn’t the worse performing team to advance to the quarterfinals. That remains Lithuania with more losses than wins in the preliminary rounds. Russia vs Lithuania (here) kicks off also that day.
Australia hasn’t shown any consistency in this tournament. But their hope has been Patrick Mills (San Antonio Spurs). Australia fell to the Brazilians in their opener, after Mills delivered his team an impressive twenty points. Then against Spain, Australia got defeated in its second game. In that match, Ingles was the team’s top scorer with only twelve points.
But when Mills has been good during this tournament, he’s delivered huge results. He produced twenty points against China to give Australia a 81-61 point win. And just this week, Mills shocked news after he produced a stunning thirty-nine points in the team’s win against Great Britain.
For Team USA, the key this tournament has been Kevin Durant. Against France,Durant lead Team USA in scoring (twenty-two points). Then against Tunisia, he dominated in rebounds, producing the most for USA (ten). And most recently, Durant was leading scorer in this week’s shutout of Argentina 97-126, delivering twenty-eight points.
The other key this tournament for USA has been Kevin Love. He was the top scorer with Carmelo Anthony against Tunisia on July 31. He was one of two top players for rebounds against Nigeria and against Argentina.
If USA wins Wednesday, they will next face the winner of Brazil vs Argentina (here). So who are the possible teams USA could face if they get to the finals? Among them are France with Tony Parker or Spain with Pau Gasol, depending on which of them wins their quarterfinals showdown (here) also Wednesday.
