Oklahoma Fires 2012: Cleveland County, Luther Wildfires Grow

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Oklahoma fires 2012 today prompted new evacuations as the wildfires map grew across the state. The Oklahoma wildfires situation today August 3, 2012 began with the single Geary fire this morning. But that fire is now joined by a series of unrelated fires across the state tonight including the Cleveland County Fire and the Luther, Oklahoma Fire.
First, the Geary, Oklahoma Fire remains at fifty percent containment today. All homes roughly one mile west of Highway 281 have been evacuated. Officials told news previously that, if the fire gets closer than two miles from Geary, they will begun to evacuate the city. One house and one mobile home have been destroyed outside town. An evacuation center still remains in place at Geary City Hall.
Second, the Cleveland County Fire is burning tonight between 120th Street, 156th Street and Cemetery Road, officials tell news. The fire is currently threatening upwards of one hundred homes, with twenty-five homes already destroyed.
The evacuation area for the Cleveland County fire is north of Etowah Road to south of Maguire Road, west of 120th Street to south of 132nd Street, 120th to 168th, north of Post Oak, south of Banner Road, north of Highway 9 and south of Maguire, and west of 120th and east of 168th street. Noble City Hall, located at 304 S. Main, is providing an evacuation center currently for residents.
Third, the Creek County Fire is still active and has destroyed one home. The fire is currently burning south of Mannford and has prompted road closures. Roads closed include Oklahoma 33 from Oklahoma 48 to 417th West Avenue in Creek County.
Fourth, a fire is burning between Ninnekah and Alex. Evacuation orders have been given to roughly fifty homes in the area, sending residents to an evacuation center at Ninnekah High at 810 South Walnut. Evacuation orders are in place for residents north of highway 19, south of County Road 1510, and west of County Road 2860, and east of County Road 2920.
Fifth, the Luther, Oklahoma Fire is spreading tonight. The fire is currently two miles south of Luther and began at 150th at North Luther Road. The fire has shut down Turner Turnpike from Oklahoma City to Wellston,
