Megabus Bus Crash in Illinois Strikes Interstate 55

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A MegaBus bus crash in Illinois has erupted on Interstate 55 today. The MegaBus bush crash has left multiple persons injured among its eighty-one passengers. Six helicopters are at the crash scene (crash photo HERE) to reportedly transport some of the injured.
Officials at the MegaBus crash report that none of the eighty-one passengers have suffered life threatening injuries. The crash erupted outside of Litchfield. The bus for reasons unknown crashed into a pillar midday today August 2, 2012. The accident happened in Montgomery County.
Officials believe that the there are at least twelve persons injured. Three of the injured are already at Memorial Hospital in Springfield; upwards of nine additional injured passenger are en route.
The MegaBus was travelled from Chicago to St Louis and slated to head to Kansas City. Amanda Byers, a spokeswoman for MegaBus, tells news that the crash is roughly fifty-five miles northeast of St Louis.
KSDK and is reportedly set to have a live news feed from the crash following Olympics coverage. I-55 is reportedly currently closed between Carlinville and Litchfield. No updates about the injured have yet to be released to local news.
