Jon Gosselin Says He’s Hit Rock Bottom, But Criticizes Kate Gosselin
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Jon Gosselin says he’s hit rock bottom. Jon Gosselin tells news he is broke, can’t afford child support, and is unable to make rent on his apartment. The former reality TV star says that his decision to leave reality television has caused him financial trouble. And Gosselin tells news that he is worried could be facing jail time for failing to pay child support.
Jon Gosselin’s bitter feud with his former network and wife dominated news several years ago. At the height of his marital troubles with Kate Gosselin, Jon’s feud was delivering the highest ever TV ratings for the family. But rather than stay with his network, and continue to deliver storylines and hit ratings, Gosselin left the network. The two sued, Gosselin threatened to remove his children from programming, and the father went on a media assault against his former wife.
Now years later, Gosselin tells news that his decision to leave reality TV has left him penniless. “I decided to take the high road and quit reality television and now look, I’m going to end up in jail because I can’t afford to pay child support to Kate who has plenty of money”, he tells Radar Online.
But Gosselin is critical of Kate returning to reality TV with a dating show. “I think this is completely ridiculous. We have eight children and they need us, she is putting reality TV and dating in front of the kids who need to have their mother.”
While Kate Gosselin continues to earn money with TV appearances, Jon says his short-term future is bleak. “I can’t afford to pay my rent and the domestic-relations staff tell me they will put me in jail unless I pay child support. I am a single father who’s trying to make ends meet during a recession. What do I do — pay child support or rent? I need to support my kids, but I could lose my house, and I need my home to continue to have custody.”
