Mexico vs. Switzerland 2012: Oribe Peralta Morones Advances Team to Quarterfinals

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Mexico vs. Switzerland 2012 ended with a stunning victory by Team Mexico. Oribe Peralta Morones is a hero for Mexico soccer fans today. Peralta delivered Mexico its game winning goal to advance the team to the quarterfinals of 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Oribe Peralta Morones is the 28 year old forward who plays for Santos Laguna. And while today’s goal was not the biggest goal ever for the Mexican star, it certainly was his most historic this year.
In 2011, Peralta was a shooting powerhouse at the Pan-American Games . He won gold becoming the tournament’s top scorer with six goals. During that tournament, he even earned a hat trick against Costa Rica to get his team to the finals. He made an appearance in last year’s Copa America, but only as a reservist.
But today, his status in the eyes of Mexican soccer fans changed. During Wednesday’s Mexico vs. Switzerland 2012 match, the group B game remained scoreless throughout the first half. Suddenly, moments ago at the sixty-nine minute mark, Peralta delivered the game winning goal. Final score was 1-0 Mexico.
Mexico will now face a Group A team in the quarterfinals. That team could be Great Britain, Senegal, or Uruguay, depending on the outcome of their Group A matches this afternoon.
