Voula Papachristou Twitter Remarks Prompt Olympic Ouster

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Voula Papachristou Twitter remarks prompted her outset from the Olympics 2012 Games today. Voula Papachristou Twitter comments were directed at persons in Athens, Greece. Now Greek Olympic officials have kicked her out of the 2012 games because of what she said on Twitter last Sunday.
Voula Papachristou’s account @papaxristoutj had first featured comments supporting Golden Dawn. Then on Sunday she commented about mosquitoes in Athens by stating the following. “With so many Africans in Greece, the West Nile mosquitoes will be getting home food”.
Officials quickly called for her ouster. “Let her make any miserable ‘jokes’ on social media while watching the games on TV. She definitely cannot represent Greece in London,” the Democratic Left said in a statement thereafter.
A spokeswoman for the Greek Olympic team confirmed to news today that Papachristou has been removed her from the games. While Papachristou later attempted to apologize for her comments to prevent her ouster, she initially defended her Twitter remarks. “That’s how I am. I laugh. I am not a CD to get stuck!!! And if I make mistakes, I don’t press the replay! I press Play and move on.”
She will not be moving on London. As of today, she is reportedly still in Athens and declining news interviews.

Correction: She said nothing about African Americans, she was referring to illegal immigrants from africa and the fact that they are numerous in Athens. That, and the fact that the Nile is in Africa constitutes the core of the “joke”. You may not find it funny, but it would be a long stretch to call it racist.
If the joke was about Romanians and Danube mosquites nobody would care. Merely mentioning the word African seems to be a punishable offence.
Anyway… An Irishman, a Scotchman and an English man walk into a bar… Oops, better not…
