James Holmes, Aurora Shooting Suspect, Prompts Mother’s Identification
ST LOUIS (LALATE) – James Holmes, the Aurora shooting suspect, prompted an identification from his mother today. No James Holmes Facebook or Twitter account has yet to be linked to the Aurora, Colorado shooter. But the shooting suspect was identified by his own mother shortly after the Colorado alleged gunman was arrested. Officials, moreover, claim that James Holmes (photos below) has ties to Tennessee as well.
Refusing to give her name, a woman claiming to be James Holmes’ mother told news that the shooting suspect is her son. In a news statement this morning, she told ABC “You have the right person. I need to call the police. I need to fly out to Colorado.” The purported mother would not tell news if she had seen any warning signals leading up to the Aurora, Colorado massacre today which left twelve persons dead, thirty-eight persons injured. Photos have now been released of Holmes.

James Holmes is accused of being the Aurora shooter 2012 today. Police accuse him of plotting, and effectuating, a deadly attack against victims as young as six years old inside a crowded movie theatre at Century 16 in Aurora. The theatre was filled with patrons watching the latest installment of the Batman series called the Dark Knight Rises.
Holmes allegedly parked behind the theatre shortly before midnight and entered in a back, emergency exit door. Officials for Century 16 have yet to tell news how Holmes allegedly was able to enter the back emergency door.
Inside were patrons including, children and parents, watching an action scene of the film already underway. Many patrons were in costume. James Holmes is accused of walking in also in costume.
Initial reports claimed he was wearing a riot gear-like costume. But a police representative tells MSNBC news that James Holmes might have been wearing a Batman costume.
Holmes is accused of first tossing a smoke device in to the theater. Victims were treated for inhalation thereafter. Police who rushed to the scene called 911 dispatch to report that they couldn’t enter because of the smoke. “Get us some d–n gas masks for theatre nine, we can’t get in it… there are people running out of the theatre who were shot” exclaimed one officer to Dispatch.
The nature of the gas still has not been detailed by medical officials to news. But local hospitals do confirm that victims described the smoke as having a numbing effect.
The concern for the smoke was so great that, shortly after the violence erupted, police sent to Holmes’ apartment SWAT, bomb squads, and medical teams. FBI agents first approaching his apartment entered through an exterior ladder. They proceeded to remove a glass from an exterior window and look inside.
Officials, moreover, evacuated several blocks around Holmes’ residence. Inside they reportedly found more firearms. Holmes reportedly lived on Paris Street between 16th and 17th avenues, inside apartment number 10. Investigators tell news that they found “possible explosives in his residence. We are dealing with that potential threat”.
Victims tell officials that they initially thought the smoke in the theater was part of the show. They claim that they saw a silhouette of the shooter through the smoke, standing near the front movie screen, brandishing a gun. “I told my friend ‘we’ve got to get out of here,’ but then he shot people trying to go out the exits,” Jennifer Seeger told NBC’s “Today.”
