Lindsay Lohan Role in The Canyons Begins Production

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Lindsay Lohan’s role in The Canyons began production this week, her publicist tells news. The Canyons is Lohan’s new role following her recently completed performance in Liz and Dick for Lifetime.
The Canyons will be a feature film. For Lohan, this marks her first feature film role in several years. Liz and Dick, a production in which she portrayed Elizabeth Taylor, is a TV movie slated for U.S. audiences in the coming months.
But in The Canyons, Lohan will work with Paul Schrader. Schrader is best credited with writing Taxi Driver and directing American Gigolo. For Lohan’s project, Schrader will direct with Bret Easton Ellis penning the script. The film is set in present day Los Angeles.
The Canyons, moreover, has been in production for several weeks, Lohan’s rep told news today. Lohan reportedly began filming for the project just last week. Lohan finished filming on the Lifetime project just days earlier. Lohan will reportedly appear opposing Gun Van Sant. Also appearing in the film is James Deen. No release date has been announced to news.
Lohan last appeared in movie theaters with the 2010 release Machete. But her last acclaimed role with the 2007 film Georgia Rule in which she was nominated for Teen Choice Award for Choice Actress. The year before that, she appeared in three films, all which garnered her award nominations: Just My Luck, A Prairie Home Companion and Bobby.
