Lord Finesse, Mac Miller Copyright Lawsuit Prompts Kool Aid Claims

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Lord Finesse Mac Miller copyright lawsuit took another turn today when Lord Finesse claimed Miller’s “people” were allegedly at fault. Lord Finesse has filed suit against Mac Miller concerning purported use of Hip 2 Da Game on Miller’s Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza.
The suit claims that Mac Miller (Malcolm McCormick) allegedly just copied existing music by Lord Finesse and passed it off as his own. The complaint asserts that Mac Miller allegedly copied “the music from a song written, produced and performed by Lord Finesse, a Hip-Hop legend, changing the title and then distributing it under his own name in order to launch his music career.â€
The suit also claims that Finesse sought responses from the parties but that they “refused to respond to a cease and desist letter that was issued earlier this month.”
This afternoon, Lord Finese told news “I appreciate Mac’s kind words but his people did not handle his business correctly… Mixtapes are one thing, but you can’t take someone’s else’s entire song, shoot a music video and call it your own.” He also added “Mac’s on the top of his game right now. I wish him the best in Europe and I hope to hear from him besides on Twitter.”
