Gisela Gagliardi Comic-Con Death Prompts Remembrances for Gisela G, Mad4Hugh

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Gisela Gagliardi Comic-con death has prompted donation efforts for the victim’s funeral. Gisela Gagliardi (twitter account @mad4hugh) prompted condolences this week with the hash tag #RIPTwiFanG, remembering “Gisela G”. Now fans have started a donation website to aid in her funeral expenses. Additionally, a moment of silence is scheduled for online Twilight fans from 8 PM – 9 PM EST this evening.
Twilight fans told news that, since Sunday, “Gisela G” had been waiting for a Thursday panel at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego. The panel “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2″ is set for tomorrow afternoon.
But in a news statement, San Diego Police Lt. Andra Brown claimed that Gisella got struck Tuesday by a 67-year-old male driver. Gisella reportedly was struck in the middle of Harbor Drive. The driver has not been cited.
Multiple efforts have been launched now to aid in her funeral expenses. “This was organized to help the family of one of our own Twifans, Gisela (@Mad4Hugh), pay for the overwhelming costs that can come with funerals, etc” said one effort. “Many of us knew her, loved her, or spent time tweeting with her. Some of us didn’t know her at all and still, the news of her death hits us hard.”
“This is horrible. So sad. I’m speechless,” actress Nikki Reed told news. Local news claims that Gisela Gagliardi, 53, was a resident of New York. Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, the film’s distributors, issued the following statement yesterday. “Lionsgate, Summit and the entire ‘Twilight’ community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.” One effort is HERE, another is HERE. Other moments of silence are scheduled throughout Europe today as well.
