Dolphy Quizon Dead at 83

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Dolphy Quizon is dead at age 83. Dolphy (Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr.) had been hospitalized since June. On Tuesday, Dolphy died following a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dolphy passed inside Makati Medical Center, officials told news.
In a news statement today, former President Joseph Estrada remembered Dolphy as a “very kind and helpful to others.” Zsa Zsa Padilla confirmed news of Quizon’s death to ABS-CBN. Dolphy once said about Padilla “I thank God for having given Zsa Zsa to me”; Padilla said of Dolphy “We have been together for 22 years, he has always kept me inspired”.
Dolphy was set to celebrate his 84th birthday on July 25. But in recent days, he had remained inside MMC’s intensive care unit. Boots Anson-Roa said of Dolphy’s passing that “it’s good to know that he is resting in peace, siguro tapos na ang paghihirap niya.”
The comedy legend’s passing was first confirmed in a news statement by MMC last night. Officials told news “We would like to inform you that Mr. Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon passed away at 20:34 due to multiple organ failure secondary to complications brought about by severe pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and acute renal failure”.
